Armored Motorcycle Clothing

We say it all the time. When you're riding motorcycle protective gear is crucial. The acronym ATGATT (All The Gear, All The Time) is a ritual and mindset that should be followed when you ride. Defensive riding may prevent accidents, but protective equipment, including bike body armour, can save your own life when defensive riding isn't enough.

Why Body Armor is Important

Body armour is a sheet of motorcycle safety equipment that discussed and is often forgotten. Helmets would be the thing talked about because it protects the neck and your head, and is essentially the protection priority. Riding with a helmet has a direct correlation with your chances of surviving a bike accident, but what about protective gear?

A jacket, gloves, riding jeans, and riding suits are all items that contribute to rescue your skin, protecting your muscles, and preventing major sprains in an event of an accident. Each of these items includes human anatomy in some manner. High-density foam coupled using carbon fibre or Pekev abrasion panels is the most prominent kinds of body armour available for motorcycle safety gear. They'll offer abrasion and impact protection to all minor and major joints which have the potential of impact.

Does Body Armor Work?

There'll always be a question about the impact of riding gear and whether body armour does make a difference. There is not an argument that bike body armour does provide more protection than riding without, although there aren't many studies enclosing the effectiveness of body armour. We have known riders who have walked away from crashes on a course with nothing more than a bruised ego. The gear had as they slid to a stop inner body armour which protected them.

CE Ratings

As soon as you start searching for body armour, then you might see a label on the packaging or the protector citing an EN European rating or a CE rating. Most brands that offer protective gear in several markets tag their armour according to a CE score. CE stands. The term CE Marking has been used as 1993 and conform to motorcycle security standards in Europe. You will not be asked to ride in CE Mark certified protective equipment on U.S. roads and highways, but you may be asked to wear them on a closed race track. That will be ordered by the track or sanctioning organization running.

Different Types of Body Armor

Protective Armored Vests

Armoured vests are made to fit over the chest and offer front, chest, and back protection. These offer impact and abrasion protection for the back and your chest but do not provide any security for your arms. Most feature a padded interior which works nicely under a jacket or can be worn over a shirt or sweatshirt along with with a hard abrasion resistant core.

Armoured Motorcycle Jackets

Armoured Motorcycle jackets that were specific are armoured at the significant impact points such as the spine, shoulders, and elbows. Materials can be a Pekev, Kevlar hybrid, mesh, leather, or textile that can be better suited to all-weathers. They typically have external and internal pockets and tightening mechanisms around the neck and neck (straps or snaps).

Jackets don't have a predetermined replacement period, and you may get many years of riding out of the jacket. Use your very best judgment on your jacket and protective armour's state when is the time to substitute it with a new one and choose.

Armoured Motorcycle Pants

Armored motorcycle pants come in fabrics or leather, depending on where and in what circumstances you ride in on, and both offer protection in the hips, pelvis, legs, and knees. Pekev is the toughest fabric used in the manufacturing of motorcycle jeans, which provides the highest abrasion. Look for the features that match your riding style the best and then search for what is affordable according to your budget.
